Lainey Wilson Strives To Be Her ‘Best Version’
Lainey Wilson has had a monumental year in country music. She recently talked with People and expressed her appreciation.
She told People what she wants to maintain, “Making sure that I feel like Lainey: the sister, the friend, daughter, aunt, and dog mom and all of those things. As long as I can do that, I can be the best version of the artist that I try to be.
Lainey added, “It’s all huge things, I feel very blessed.”
Wison also said that her Whirlwind album is aptly named, reflecting her career. She offered that “Country’s having its moment,” and she’s proud to be a part of the movement.
Over the weekend she brought her “Wildflowers and Wild Horses Tour” to Las Vegas’ MGM Grand. That performance was a full circle moment as she brought out Mae Estes and Tracy Lawrence. She said how cool it was to think that Lawrence was on her show bill. She recalled that he took her out on the road with him about three years ago, and she remembers that he stood side-stage, and “watched every single one of my performances.”
In the same interview, Lainey noted that there was a “shift happening” for fellow female artists being talked about. he said there’s the thing about the girls when they break through because it is so hard to break through, they can “stand the test of time.”

After winding down her tour earlier this year, playing on Thanksgiving Day, and working as hard as anyone in country music (if not harder) this year, Wilson is finally starting to wind down a little bit.
The country superstar did take some time to play the Grand Ole Opry last week, where she introduced Opry’s Next Stage, which features up-and-coming artists in country music.
Lainey posted several pictures of the evening and the new artists who performed as well as some of herself performing on the Opry stage on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Every time I’m back at the @opry it feels like coming home. This #NextStage class is something special… Y’all keep an eye on them.”
Fans reacted to the post, including one die-hard who wrote, “Beautiful and sweet as ever you will go so far.” Another fan said, “I was there for this!! And it was my birthday. Seeing you and all the Nextstage crew was the best birthday gift ever. Thank you @laineywilson for making my 46th birthday special.” One more fan commented, “Such a fantastic lineup of artists!! What a wonderful show to see!!”
