Carrie Underwood Starts 2025 In The Kitchen
Carrie Underwood rang in the New Year in New York City performing on Times Square on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025. Seacrest marked his 20th year as host and returned alongside co-host Rita Ora.
Carrie said before the performance, “I have such fun memories of performing on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year.”
She added, “I’m thrilled to celebrate 20 years since winning American Idol by joining Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
On her Insta Stories, Underwood shared some images of the first things she is doing in the New Year. She posted a photo of some canned food and wrote, “Kicking off 2025 by doing things that I love… Pressure canned some garlic, potatoes, and carrots… “
In the next slide, she showed some boiling water and wrote, “Mixing up some sourdough (for a cranberry foccacia and a classic boule)…”
In the final slide, the country superstar showed a photo of the sheep on her Nashville farm, including the infamous Gary, who causes trouble among the sheep. She captioned that photo, “And spending time with Gary, Baby Bluey, Violet, Daisy, Rosie, and Gray.”

Underwood is full of life these days with her two young sons and husband Mike, who live on a farm just outside of Nashville. While Carrie has human children to love that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love her dog babies as well.
She talks about her dogs Ace (who passed away in 2022) and Penny, “They’re my fur babies, they are. And they’re always with me, and they’re such a huge part of my life. It only makes sense that that bleeds over into my music or videos or photo shoots or something at some point. Commercials, magazines…you know, whatever!”
The country superstar added, “It only makes sense that they would be a part of some of that some of the time. Ace was in the ‘All-American Girl’ video, Penny was in ‘Blown Away.’ It just… it makes sense that they are in my life so much, they might as well be in my work, too, and they make all of it better. They make all of the aspects of my life better.”
She and her family welcomed a new puppy named Charlie in 2023.
