Disney+ declared today to be Disney+ Day, in celebration of two years since the streaming service launched. And today they announced a number of shows (many that we knew about) that will be coming to the service in 2022. After a Marvel-less 2020, it looks like we won’t have to go to long without seeing new Marvel content, at least for the forseeable future. Along with the announcements, we also got quick glimpses of three of the upcoming shows: She-Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel. The footage was included in a 14 minute package that is available on Disney+. (We’re hoping individual trailers will be released soon).

  • Moon Knight

This show, starring Oscar Isaac, had been announced, but we got to see a bit of footage, and it looks intense.

  • She-Hulk

The footage of She-Hulk was especially exciting, because we caught a glimpse of Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters as She-Hulk, as well as Mark Ruffalo as “smart” Hulk – the version of Hulk that we saw him as in Avengers: Endgame. Of course, we saw Ruffalo as Bruce Banner in the end-credits of Shang-Chi this summer, so expect to hear lots of speculation about what’s going on with Banner and the Hulk.

  • Ms. Marvel

We also saw a little bit of footage of Ms. Marvel: newcomer Iman Vellani plays Ms. Marvel, who will eventually appear in The Marvels in 2023, with Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, and Tayonah Parris as Monica Rambeau (who was introduced as a child in the first Captain Marvel film, and we later met her as an adult in Disney+’s Wandavision earlier this year). Where most of the announcements said “coming soon,” Ms. Marvel’s said, “coming summer 2022.” That’s probably because The Marvels is due out in Feburary of 2023, and they want audiences to be familiar with Kamala Khan.

  • What If... ? Season 2

No surprise here; we knew that the animated show was to have at least two seasons. And there are a lot of characters we’d love to see again, particuarly Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter.

  • Echo

Echo, alias Maya Lopez — played by Alaqua Cox — will debut later this month in Disney+’s Hawkeye. In the comic books, she’s the adopted daughter of Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, a villain who we’ve seen in the Netflix Marvel show Daredevil. Marvel has been very quiet about what they plan to do with those characters, but this seems to be a good way to at least introduce Fisk, if not Daredevil himself. Echo is deaf – which would make her the second deaf Marvel character, after Lauren Ridloff’s Makkari in The Eternals.

  • Iron Heart

Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, will be introduced in Wakanda Forever which is also due out next year. Williams is a teenage genius who, in the comics, designed a suit of armor much like Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor.

  • Agatha: House Of Harkness

Agatha Harkness, played to perfection by Kathryn Hahn in Wandavision, is getting her own spinoff. In the comics, Agatha plays into the stories of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, so surely fans will be looking for Easter eggs in every moment of the show.

  • Marvel Zombies

Obviously this animated series is a spin-off of the zombie-centric episode of What If…? Hopefully, “Sexiest Man Alive” Paul Rudd will return to do the voice of Scott Lang’s head. If that doesn’t make sense, you just need to catch the episode.

  • Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion will see the return of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury who we last saw in Spider-Man: Far From Home. He’ll be reunited with aSkrull named Talos, played by Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel, who also appeared as Nick Fury in Far From Home. it’s complicated.

  • X-Men 97

There’s still no word as to how the X-Men will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this new animated show looks like it’s picking up where the classic animated show from the ’90s left off.

  • Spider-Man: Freshman Year

This animated series looks to be aimed at kids.

  • I Am Groot

This is also an animated series, and looks to be focusing on “Baby Groot,” who we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. But it probably is not going to be “canon.”
