Lainey Wilson Thanks Her ‘Day Ones’
Lainey Wilson is thinking about her new album, Whirlwind, which will be out on August 23. She recorded a video clip of herself on Instagram, talking about those people who have been there for her from the very beginning.
She said in the video, “I’ve been thinking about my ‘day one’ people, talking about people who have stood by my side and supported me when I didn’t have anything to offer except for a few songs and a big ole dream.”
Lainey continued, “Ya’ll, we are officially one month away from my album Whirlwind dropping. We have been working on this thing for over a year, and I am so glad our labor of love you can call is almost yours, almost.”
The country superstar explained while walking on her property, “I truly do think that this is the best record that I have ever done, and my band got to play on it. It seems like we all knew what was missing without even talking about it, and it’s so special. I mean, these are the guys from day one, so they’re the ones who started out me in a flat bed of an F450. We had equipment strapped to the back. We went a million miles in a van, and I’ll tell you what: it was a big deal to get a van. BIG deal.”
She added, “But this record is really special to me for a lot of reasons, but having my boys on it makes it that much more special. And it only makes sense to have them play on a record named Whirlwind because they have been a part of my Whirlwind since day one.”
Wilson captioned the post, “Whirlwind drops in ONE MONTH from today. I am so proud of this record and can not wait for it to finally be in y’all’s hands!”

The singer has created a little dance she does before she takes the stage and sings her latest single, “Hang Tight Honey,” to prevent herself from having a pants-ripping mishap during the high-octane song.
She posted a copy of the new practice footwork on Instagram. In the clip, the country star is wearing brown leather bell-bottom pants, a beige tank top, a cropped poncho, and a cowboy hat. She wrote over the short but fun instructional video, “Adding this to my rotation before a show so my britches don’t rip like they did at Faster Horses.”
Lainey’s almost three million followers loved her new routine, and many commented. One fan gushed, “You were awesome no matter what happened with your pants! Thanks for a great concert!” Another fan said, “You were amazing last night!!! I loved seeing you sing!!! It made my heart full!!” One more fan offered, “Keep it going, Lainey. We’re all so proud of you, and we love you and your music!!”
