Mick posted a picture of the letter on Facebook with attaching a caption to help convert her appreciation to Toni’s kind gesture.
“Dear Toni.. you know who you are and I want to express how moved I am,” Mick wrote. “This means so much that my husband and I cried together. With the turmoil of things going on, it reminds us of what really matters: LIFE!”
Mick said in a statement to PEOPLE: “The reason it meant a lot was that I just lost my mother and was pondering on how to celebrate her birthday coming up in June. Never thought about paying for a cake. We have it in us to be kind and supportive of others. You never know what a simple cake can mean to someone else.”
Mick’s post stated flooding with positive and heartfelt messages until the stranger finally revealed herself identifying as Toni Wilson-Taylor in the post.
“This is Tyler,” she stated with an picture attached of her late son. “May God bless your family as you celebrate a loved ones birthday today. Enjoy.”
Wilson-Taylor also wrote, “I’ve been carried all day by these wonderful caring prayers. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. I never dreamed buying a cake would spread so much love and carry my family thru a tough day. So blessed.”
