With Abbott Elementary taking over tv, it made me realize that some of the best tv shows of all time are actually set in Philly! From sitcoms to drama, there has been some really awesome shows based in and around Philadelphia. Let’s take a look shall we.

A documentary crew is recording the lives of teachers working in underfunded schools. One of the places they have decided to document is Philadelphia’s Willard R. Abbott Elementary School, a predominantly Black Philadelphia public school. Quinta Brunson, who went to Temple, has become the Queen of Philly!

  • Bel Air

The spin off is more in Philly than the original!  The series follows Will Smith’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.[3] This series dives into Racial tensionCulture shock, and Black excellence.

The series’ original focus was on the employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) and their daily work – ticketing, “booting” (via wheel clamp) and towing vehicles, as well as dealing with issues that arise with vehicle owners when they try to retrieve their vehicles from the impound lots.
