The Andie Summers Show

First stop before Magic Kingdom, EPCOT. We stayed close to EPCOT so we walked there and then took the tram to Magic Kingdom. The parks are kind far from each other but there is so much transportation. Gosh I love this place so much!

When we told people that we were taking our then six-month-old baby girl to Disney World, but then the question was asked, what do you do with babies at Disney World? Quite frankly, they called us crazy. “She won’t remember any of this,” was said to us quite a few times. Or even “seems like more work than what it is worth!”

We ignored all of them and took our baby anyway because Disney World is the most magical place on earth and that’s for EVERYONE, young and old.

Walt Disney World Resort

The first fans stepped into Disney World in Florida in October of 1971. This was the dream of one man, Walt Disney. According to Frommers.com, “[in 1964] began secretly buying millions of dollars worth of Central Florida farmland.” Seven years later, Disney would open the “most magical place on earth,” in Orlando, Florida.

Today, the vast magic consists of four theme parks; Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.  On top of that, there are over 25 resort hotels that guests can stay at very close to the parks in order to keep the magic going even when they step out of the park’s gates.

Babies At Disney World

That’s why you came here right? Our tips for how you can make the MOST out of having your young baby at Disney World. Now, if you have some help, like grandma and grandpa, and you want to skip the lines on some of the bigger, more thrilling adult rides, you can read up on all the details right here.

There are a lot of rides that you can ride with your little one, we outlined our favorites just below. Plus some experiences you can have! We took our six-month-old baby girl, McKinley, to Disney and had a blast. Check it out.

  • TriceraTop Spin

Location: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

This one was so much for the whole family. All of us were able to fit into the the same Triceratops. Also, at least for us, the wait wasn’t long at all. It’s graded for any height and all ages. The thrill type is “slow rides” and “spinning” according to the Walt Disney World app.

“Fly high on a dinosaur around a twirling tin-toy top at this delightful carnival-inspired attraction.”

  • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

    Location: Magic Kingdom Park

This is right behind Cinderella’s Castle, so it’s easy to find. It’s also next to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique which has become quite the viral sensation. They makeover your little boy or girl into a prince or princess of their choosing. Very cute. Okay, back to the Carrousel. This is so perfect because of the location, little to no wait, and it’s just your classic carnival ride. Along with some very joyous music, it’s great for babies.

Check the video of us on it!

  • Adventurers Outpost

Location: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

This is one of many locations at many of the parks to meet your son or daughter’s favorite characters. Mickey AND Minnie just happened to be hanging out the day we explored Animal Kingdom so we met them. Now, in the interest of time, the wait was kind of long so we hacked this one. We ended up using one of our Fast Passes that we bought ahead of time to get us ahead in the line. Worth it when your baby is due for a nap but you still want to meet the characters!

  • The Seas With Nemo & Friends

    Location: EPCOT

Our daughter just LOVED all of the fun that was Nemo & Friends. She was enthralled with all of the colors, the fishies, everything. She was consistently engaged in the ride (until I pulled my phone out, see below). The ride itself was comfortable for our family to all sit together so that’s a plus. The best part, it’s in EPCOT, so grab a beer in Canada (it’s close) and then park the stroller, leave the beers hidden, come back out and finish them!

  • Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade

    Location: Magic Kingdom Park

This is just CLASSIC Disney. So much to see all of her favorite characters in one parade. Everyone from Mickey and Minnie to Moana. Even Pluto to Pirates! Just such a perfect way to ring in the Disney trip. The parade happens every day at 12pm and 3pm. Make sure you are set up in a good place that you can see everything going down. There are dancers, characters, acrobats, it’s all amazing. Check out the video here!
