People had started laying off the whole “sending a holiday card” thing over the past years. But then the pandemic hit, and holiday card sales were up about 300% in 2020. I mean, we didn’t have anything else to do, right? So it makes sense. But I love the idea that people are still reaching out in a material way instead of just sending a text or email. According to Shutterfly President Jim Hilt, a holiday card is more than a greeting …

“The card is a gift. When you personalize it with photos … and share it with people you love and people you haven’t seen in a while, you’re effectively giving them a small part of your life. A card is a super personal expression of who you are.”
I have to admit, my husband and I used to send holiday cards, but once the kids got old enough to be in sports and extracurricular activities, it became harder and harder to get my act together. My focus was inside my house instead of reaching out. I was more concerned about buying all the gifts instead of sharing them with our neighbors, friends, and family. And I really regret it. I would feel pangs of guilt every time we received a holiday card in the mail. And over the years, the number of cards we received became fewer and fewer.
I think I’ve pulled myself out of the funk and I hope you join us in spreading cheer this holiday season. We are so grateful to you and we want to show you. Send us a Christmas or Holiday Card, and we will return the favor by sending one to you.
