Can’t turn off Dad Mode. Our beloved Bryce Harper helped a lost little boy find his family before the Phillies game. Yes, you read that correctly. Before the Phillies game against the Kansas City Royals started on Saturday night, Bryce Harper noticed a little boy crying during batting practice. So he went over to talk to him and find out what was going on.
Bryce is used to being in dad mode. He married his high school girlfriend, Kayla, in December 2016 and the couple has two adorable children: a son Krew Aron, born in August 2019, and a daughter Brooklyn Elizabeth, born in November 2020. Bryce is protective of his kids, as we rarely see their faces online or in person.
There was a lot going on Saturday night as new Phillies player Trea Turner finally hit a home run! Trea snapped his 21-game home run drought dating back to July 8, the Saturday before the All-Star break. He hit a three-run homer that helped the Phillies beat the Kansas City Royals. It came a day after the entire Citizens Bank Park stadium gave him a standing ovation before the game on Friday night. The idea took off on Phillies’ social media on Friday by telling fans to get Trea out of his slump, we need to cheer him on and show him the love. The Phillies fans delivered and Trea was almost in tears on Friday after the standing ovation. He didn’t hit a home run on Friday, but sure enough, Saturday night, Trea hit a 3-run homer to help seal the win!
I really do believe positive energy produces more positive energy. Anytime a player is struggling fans want to yell and scream and say nasty things to them, which never works. These are professional athletes, they are the best of the best, do you really think they want to suck? Of course not. They want to be great, so stop yelling and being mean. Take note of how it worked for Trea Turner and let’s bring that into the Eagles and Sixers seasons.
