This dog adopted after over a year in the shelter will pull on your heartstrings, without a doubt. We loved this story so much that we had to make it a Cup o’ Joy story, no doubt about it. We originally found this story on the Good News Network.
It is so sad to know the fact of how many animals are in shelters just waiting for forever homes but the reality is, there are a lot of them. We are looking forward to telling you all about one special pup, Neo, who has a heroic story.
Dog Adopted With Sad History
After a rough life which included suffering severe abuse and spending over 450 days in a shelter, a dog named Neo has undergone a remarkable transformation and is finally going to a forever home. Despite the challenges that usually come with rehabilitating animals involved in abuse cases, Neo quickly charmed the staff at Best Friends Pet Resource Center, especially Ali Paepke, the Life-Saving Program Manager.
His trusting and affectionate nature was unexpected and inspiring. Neo’s successful rehabilitation led to his adoption by foster mom Linda Songbird, who was immediately convinced the pup could be her lifelong companion.
