Needless to say the news that a teenager was bitten by a shark at the Jersey Shore is a shock. Especially leading up to Memorial Day Weekend! And now, a great white shark named Penn was spotted at the Jersey Shore. I actually stopped at the beach in Stone Harbor after my Acme appearance in Cape May Courthouse and there was so many people in the water. My thought has always been enjoy the beach, but just remember it’s the shark’s house.

There has been a lot going on at the Jersey Shore over the past few months. There has been numerous dead whales to wash up along different beaches, there has been numerous dead dolphins that washed up along the shoreline, various beach towns have implemented different rules and bans for this upcoming season based off the havoc that happened over the last few summers. Wildwood just announced they banned alcohol on the beach and the boardwalk. Sea Isle City banned backpacks and adopted a curfew. Ocean City adopted a “breach of peace” ordinance. There was such havoc by teens in Ocean City over Memorial Day Weekend they had to made a beach curfew.

I’m not a parent, but I don’t understand how parents can be so clueless has to what their kids are doing? Don’t be afraid to have some rules and ask where your kids are. I know things are harder in the world of social media, but still. You have a beach house, Ocean City isn’t that big, pay attention to where your kids are and what they are doing. Maybe follow them and see where they are? Maybe get together with other parents to make sure the kids are behaving and being respectful? the shore is supposed to be a fun chill time for everyone.
