Remember when P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs used to have his famous “White Party,” well Diddy retired and/or passed to the torch to Philadelphia billionaire and former Sixers owner Michael Rubin. Last night, Kenny Chesney partied with Joel Embiid, James Harden and more celebs at an incredible 4th of July bash. In case you need a recap on Michael, his story is amazing. He grew up in Lafayette Hill where he started a ski shop in his parents’ basement when he was 12 and two years later, using $2,500 in bar mitzvah gifts as seed capital and a lease signed by his father, he opened a formal ski shop in Conshohocken named Mike’s Ski and Sport. He attended Villanova before dropping out after a semester. Clearly, school wasn’t going to stop him.
He currently is the CEO of Fanatics and executive chairman of Rue Gilt Groupe. Yes, as in Rue La La. He was a part owner of the Philadelphia 76ers up until last season when he sold his share because he said it was going to interfere with Fanatics, which really blew up. He is very close friends with Joel Embiid and they have called each other brothers.
From what I know, Michael and his family live on the Main Line, however, he has a huge 50-million-dollar mansion in the Hamptons where he spends most of his Summer. His net worth is reportedly around 10.5 BILLION DOLLARS. Every Summer Michael throws a very famous 4th of July “White Party.” Year after year, the more famous Michael gets, the bigger the party is. This year was definitely the biggest. There were so many celebrities there from movies, music, sports, etc. Someone made a hilarious comment on Instagram and said it’s like a Marvel Movie crossover. Lol! Think about it though, when do you see that many A-list celebrities get together? Usually, it’s that music stays together, movies, sports, etc. This combo of everyone under one roof is wild. Besides Kenny Chesney at the bash, Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tobias Harris, and Tom Brady, some of the other guests included Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, DJ Khaled and Kevin Hart. Usher, Ne-Yo and Jack Harlow performed.
