Little League World Series: The jinx is real!

The Little League World Series is an exciting opportunity for elite teams of players aged 10 to 12. Think about how young these kiddos are! Making it to the LLWS takes determination and grit, but it comes with a lot of pressure.

The History

The first Little League World Series took place in 1947 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. At first, only teams from the United States were invited to participate in the tournament, which was called the " National Little League Tournament," but was eventually called the World Series to co-inside with Major League Baseball's World Series.

Congratulations, California!

Huge congratulations going out to California, the Little League World Series Champs! But something happened during that exciting game that has everyone talking.

El Segundo Little League, which represented California, has a lot to celebrate today. For a team to make it to the Little League World Series is a fantastic feat. To win it is epic. And the way they won takes it to another level.

Watch West's post-game press conference HERE.

The Jinx

If you watched the game, you might remember the moment that will go down in history. Louis Lappe is up to bat. Just before the pitch, ESPN broadcaster Karl Ravech commented that California's competitor Curaçao had “not allowed a home run at the World Series.”

Boom. Louis Lappe knocked that ball outta the park!

Did Karl Ravech jinx Curaçao? Some argue he did. California's El Segundo Little League is grateful. See the video below and decide for yourself.

And I don't mean to take anything away from Curaçao. The kids played a great game! Look below to see the incredible grand slam that tied the teams in the fifth inning.

Yasssss!!!!

Major congrats to "West!" Also known as "California." Also known as "El Segundo Little League" on winning the Little League World Series!

Epitome of Good Sportsmanship

Japan's team not only congratulates the new Little League World Series Champs, they got their photo taken with them.

To see the joy in the faces of these kiddos is infectious! Way to go, El Segundo Little League - our Little League World Series Champions!!!!

Collecting Momentos

Making it to the Little League World Series is a big deal. Not to be taken lightly. These kiddos take what they can to remember all they accomplished in the past several months.

They were there in spirit

Adults and kids alike came together to watch their Little League World Series competitors become Little League World Series Champs! Watching this crowd brings me so much joy.

Curacao's Grand Slam

This was an amazing moment for Curacao. Little did they know the tables would turn ...

Proof the Sports Jinx is Real

California's Louis Lappe will go down in history .... And so will ESPN's Karl Ravich.
