One of my favorite things about being live on the radio in Philadelphia is that I get to talk about all the cool things that happen in and around the Delaware Valley. So many cities aren’t fortunate enough to be able to talk about FOUR different states – Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. We honestly can even talk about New York City because it’s still pretty close. It’s extra special to me because I not only grew up in Pennsylvania but also a very small town. Summit Hill is so small that we don’t even have any traffic lights, just stop signs. Summit Hill is very close to Jim Thorpe, PA, which many people are familiar with. It’s been great to see Jim Thorpe take on the role of being a tourism destination. Hopefully it can get even more popular.

The area I grew up in, the coal region, was a very rich area back in the 1900s because of coal. Many small towns are the backbone of America and it’s been great seeing them have a resurgence. Coal might not be a way to make small towns rich anymore, but tourism sure can help.

Fun fact, I got to ride in the very famous Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade last year. My new goal is to make it to the Summit Hill Wikipedia Page. Ha!

Since 925XTU is in Philadelphia, we’re been fortunate to go to a lot of small towns in the area. Whether it’s Haddonfield or Collingswood or Media or Abington or Narberth, there are so many and it’s fun to see these small towns get highlighted so it brings more visitors. Plus supporting small businesses in and around your community is always a positive thing to do. The more business small towns bring in, the better the overall economy will be.
