Another year has ended, so it is time to check out the top 2023 Google search trends. Google released its annual Year in Search recap and some of the results are shocking! Philadelphia's searches of 2023 include something you would never think of, and nationally, a country artist landed at the top of not just one list, but two all-genre lists.
Let's talk about the National Google Searches first.
This country artist was not only the most googled musician but also had the most googled song of the year - in all genres, not just country.
Yep. It was a big Google Year for Jason Aldean. "Try That In A Small Town" created quite a stir when it first came out. Many thought Aldean was making a political statement. Others called him racist for the setting of the video. And anyone who did not know who he was beforehand, certainly did after they Googled him.
Not Taylor?
Before you get confused, of course, Taylor Swift was the top search of the year, but according to Rolling Stone, she is someone who constantly has a high amount of search interest. They put this list together based on spikes. Google’s aim for its top trending lists is to make them more colorful and interesting than obvious.
That being said, Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce did make his way onto the list of most searched athletes. But he comes in at number 2.

Damar Hamlin is the athlete with the top 2023 Google search of the year. Hamlin is the Buffalo Bills player who collapsed on the field when his heart stopped after taking a blow to the chest in the Bills game against the Bengals in Cincinnati. Remarkably, Hamlin is not only doing well, but he is back to playing ball.
