We’ve been waiting and waiting for this to finally happen. The NFL combine came and went and the NFL draft is right around the corner. It’s happening Thu, Apr 27, 2023 – Sat, Apr 29, 2023 in Kansas City. In typical Philly fashion the longer it took for the contract to get signed, the more nervous we got, but turns out, we had nothing to worry about. Jalen Hurts is going to be a Philadelphia Eagle for a very long time and hopefully bring us numerous championships.
I think it’s safe to say there is something different about Jalen Hurts than so many other Philadelphia athletes. We adore Allen Iverson, but he had his issues. Same with Ben Simmons and Donovan McNabb. Then there’s the drama of Carson Wentz. He was supposed to be the answer to the Eagles, but it didn’t work out and as of right now, Carson Wentz isn’t even on a NFL team.
Jalen has overcome so much adversity. From starting in Alabama and then getting benched, to transferring to Oaklahoma and being a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. He knows how to handle hard stuff. Then he gets drafted to the Eagles, behind Carson Wentz. If you know sports, especially football, drafting a Heisman finalist in the second row of the NFL draft to sit behind a starting quarterback that you just paid, you know something was fishy. It’s almost like Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson knew Carson wasn’t it. So they claimed they drafted Jalen to be a good backup quarterback to Carson Wentz. Turns out, Philadelphia was told Carson Wentz was the answer, but all along, Jalen Hurts is who Philadelphia needed. His attitude, worth ethic and sheer talent seem made for Philly.
Now, with a female agent, Jalen Hurts is the highest paid NFL player in history! Go Birds!
