Saturday Night Live Season 49 Returns With Alumni Host

Saturday Night Live Returns

Saturday Night Live is returning for its 49th season on October 14th. With the writers strike finally coming to an end, SNL will bless my TV screen once again. If you don’t already know this about me, I am a massive fan of the show. Like, really huge. I haven’t missed an episode in over 13 years. It’s actually one of the reasons I took a career in radio. I have yet to be at a live show, but you bet I’ve been trying to make my way into 30 Rock.

Saturday Night Live Season 49 Lottery

Since I was 16 years old, I have been entering the SNL lottery every year in hopes of winning tickets. For the whole month of August, SNL opens its lottery to anxious fans. You have one chance to convince their staff that YOU deserve to be an audience member at a dress- rehearsal or live taping. That’s a lot of pressure! Obviously, my pleads haven’t worked in the past, so I’m asking The Andie Summers Show to help me out. Here is one of my past submissions to the SNL team asking for tickets.

Who Is Hosting?

Saturday Night Live revealed in an Instagram post that SNL alum, Pete Davidson, will be the first host of the 49th season with musical guest Ice Spice. This will be SNL also announced the second host for the season, Bad Bunny. The famous Puerto Rican rapper & singer will be pulling double duty by hosting and performing the following week. Bad Bunny has performed as a musical guest in 2021, but this will be his first time hosting. Pete Davidson was scheduled to host last May before the announcement of the writer’s strike. Davidson is currently on his comedy tour as well as promoting his new movie, Dumb Money.

Check Out Pete Davidson’s Top Saturday Night Live Sketches

  • Chad

Every Chad Ever: Part 1 - SNL

Pete Davidson’s Chad character is a recurring SNL character who is known for his laid-back, apathetic attitude. He is often oblivious to the danger or drama around him, and he usually just responds with a nonchalant “OK.” Despite his lack of awareness, Chad is usually well-liked by other characters, and he even unintentionally saves the world in his SpaceX sketch.

  • Rap Roundtable with Timothee Chamalet

    Rap Roundtable - SNL

This live sketch with Timothee Chalamet turned viral almost instantly. The rap duo performed one of their songs that’s so bad it’s good. It’s even a popular Halloween costume!

  • Rudolph's Big Night

    Rudolph's Big Night - SNL

Pete Davidson’s Rudolph sketch is a dark and twisted take on the classic Christmas story. In the sketch, Rudolph. is a vengeful reindeer who takes out his pent-up frustration on his colleagues after being bullied for his red nose. The sketch is full of dark humor and shocking moments, and it remains one of Davidson’s most memorable SNL performances.

  • Stu

    Stu - SNL

Something tells me that Pete Davidson has been practicing his Eminem impression for a while. In this digital short, Davidson writes his letter to Santa and parodies Eminem’s song Stan. The song starts out very innocently until it just gets progressively more violent and hilarious.

  • Tucci Gang

    Tucci Gang - SNL

In this digital short, Pete Davidson pays homage to the legendary, Stanley Tucci. Davidson parodies the song, Gucci Gang to play tribute to “that guy from the Hunger Games.” And who better to play the Tucci man himself, but Sam Rockwell.
