Who would have thought belting out a little Christmas ditty could be potentially dangerous!? Well, according to a university study, not all songs are safe.

A 2019 study by the South China University of Technology studied the correlation between beats per minute in a song and how that impacted a driver’s ability to drive safely.

According to the study, “As revealed in a study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States, 25% of road crashes were attributed to in-vehicle driver distraction, including music-listening, having a conversation with passengers, etc.”

The study found that songs with a higher tempo and more intensity affected the drivers’ ability to focus. Songs with high than 120 BPM are potentially more harmful.

So with that information, Chill Insurance decided to dive deep into the songs we know and love from the holidays and determine the top 10 most dangerous Christmas songs.
