Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware hosted a Taylor Swift tea party on Sunday, April 21, 2024, called “A SwifTea Party.”
A Tea Tradition
Guests have cherished the long-standing tradition of “taking tea” at Hotel Du Pont for decades. The classic high tea service is served on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with savory tea sandwiches, fresh scones, and delectable pastries made in-house by the HOTEL DU PONT Pastry Shop.
A Taylor Swift Tea Party
In celebration of the release of The Tortured Poets Department, the hotel hosted a whimsical Taylor Swift-inspired tea party.
The “Gorgeous” Hotel Du Pont knows “All Too Well” how to celebrate the “Timeless” ritual of afternoon tea. We headed over to celebrate all things Taylor in “Style.”
The lavish hotel was a perfect spot for an afternoon tea party. Tons of Swifties of all ages were in attendance. We noticed a lot of moms were there with their daughters. Some grandmothers even showed up! It was a generational affair. You’re never too young or old to love some T-Swift.
It was an afternoon as enchanting as a Taylor Swift song. All ages got in on the stations that were set up for swifties to live their “Wildest Dreams.” You could get your hair and nails spruced up, make a friendship bracelet, and capture it all in a stellar photo op.
The whole experience was topped off with a great selection of food and drink. What’s a Taylor Swift tea party without Taylor-themed refreshments?

Mother’s Day Brunch in the Gold Ballroom will showcase an array of exquisite food stations, ranging from pastries to breakfast favorites. You can also indulge in a curated charcuterie display, highlighting the chef’s selection of premium meats and cheeses.

Nail Bar
At the nail bar, you could pick between 6 Taylor-Swift-themed designs to get painted on your nails right then and there! Artists used gel polish to decorate guests’ nails with moons, stars, polaroid frames, and more. The nail artists were knowledgeable and kind and worked efficiently to ensure everyone who wanted a nail design got one! Their work was marvelous.
Friendship Bracelet Station
“So make the friendship bracelets…”
Tons of guests got in on the fun of making friendship bracelets. There were tons of bead boxes and plenty of stretchy string to go around as swifties made custom bracelets for themselves. This station was one of the most popular, with people crowding it essentially the entire time!
Hair Accessory Station
The hair experts from Currie Hair, Skin, and Nails had a great setup of hair accessories for all. Tons of people sat down to get sparkly tinsel tied into their hair. It made for a “Bejeweled” addition to everyone’s hair! You could pick whatever color you wanted, but pink was probably the most popular.
A Photo Booth
You could capture your entire glow-up at the T-Swift photo booth. There were tons of Taylor-themed props for you to choose from. Whether you were in your Red era, or feeling more like a Tortured Poet, there was a prop for you!
This was another photo-op at the party! As you walked into the room, there was a friendship-bracelet-themed balloon arch perfect for selfies.
The Tea And Food
Then, of course, after all that, we get to the most important part: the food and drink! Immediately upon sitting you were greeted with a Lover cookie that looked exactly like the album cover.
After choosing from their wide selection of teas, we got served our personal pots of tea, along with a tower of all kinds of afternoon tea fare. On the bottom tier were all kinds of themed sandwiches. The tony sandwiches were called Catching Kelce, Taylor & Brie, Tatanka, Easter Eggs, and Midnight Koi. Taylor & Brie was definitely our favorite.
Above the sandwiches sat sweets made by the hotel bake shop. They also had clever names, such as the Breakfast at Midnight Maple Bacon Scone, the Lemon Lavender Haze Bar, and the Red Lip Classic Crème Puff. They made Taylor’s Chai Sugar Cookie recipe, and also a tony version of the Blank Space Cake.
And they didn’t forget the adults! There were themed cocktails at the event as well, including the French Blonde (Taylor’s fave) and Lavender haze.
We left super full and super satisfied with it all!
