The Andie Summers Show

90s hit-makers Lonestar don't look like this anymore. Lead singer Ritchie McDonald (brown sweater) left the band and is replaced by Dean Womack

Lonestar updates mega hit proving the 90s are back and better than ever.

Lonestar, a country music band that reached its peak in the 1990s with John Rich and Richie McDonald, has a new lead singer, Dean Womack, along with band veterans Keech Rainwater, Michael Britt, and Dean Sams. To show fans that a new frontman can only add to the band’s success, Lonestar has re-recorded their biggest hits for a new album titled “10 to 1.”

“It was a blast to have creative control when re-recording all ten No. 1 hits,” Womack told Taste of Country. “It was just four friends making music the way we want to make it! That said, a song like ‘No News’ became a household tune, so we had to keep it pretty true to the original.”

Womack wasn’t in the band when “No News” was a huge hit, or any of the other nine songs on the album, so the project gives the band a chance to show fans how their biggest songs sound with the 2023 lineup.

Featuring an updated sound, “No News” shows off Womack’s capable vocals and proves that Lonestar can still hold its own on country playlists alongside today’s biggest hitmakers. You can hear the new version of “No News” below. We can’t wait to hear the new album when it drops June 2.
