It was announced on the morning of February 6th of the passing of the legendary Toby Keith. We found out from the family on his Instagram account. It reads “Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time.”

See the post below, the comments on the post are ones of shock and sadness from his many, many fans.

Toby Keith’s Battle

It was reported that he was battling stomach cancer. We learned of the diagnosis in June of 2022. Toby even went on The Today Show to update fans as to how he was doing back in November of 2023.

The country singer performed in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo, those dates were December 10, 11 and 14th. All three nights were sold out. According to his website, he did not have any planned performances after those dates.

Here he was in September of 2023 at the People’s Choice Award. Despite going through this wicked battle, he is crushing it looking great at the end of last year.

His Last Post On Social Media

Before the announcement that his family made on social media, he made one last post the day before his passing. That of him on stage. Fans flooded the comments with “so glad he’s back” wishes, very much deserved.

This is how we will remember this legend.

Thanks to our friends at 6ABC for thinking of us and having Andie Summers on the broadcast to talk about our friend, Toby Keith.
