The Grammy Awards and the Grammy MusiCares Award Person of the Year put a positive spotlight on some of the women of country music; the Friday before the Grammy Awards, saw Dolly Parton honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year, the first country artist to receive the honor.
Dolly Parton was honored at last night's Grammy MusiCares Person of The Year event in Los Angeles. The tribute featured performances by Vince Gill, Don Henley, Norah Jones, Pink, Willie Nelson, Mark Ronson, Mavis Staples, Leon Bridges, Lauren Daigle, Linda Perry and Shawn Mendes and raised over $6 million for MusiCares.
The 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards will be handed out live on CBS on February 10 and one of country music's most coveted awards of all is the Grammy for Best Country Album. This year's category includes projects from Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini, Brothers Osborne, Kacey Musgraves and newcomer Ashley McBryde.
Dolly Parton is slated to perform during the Grammy telecast, which will also feature an all-star tribute to the Country Music Hall of Fame member by Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry.
