Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, Wins a CMA Award
Trent Reznor, Yes that Trent Reznor Won a CMA Award! His CMA comes from Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus who sampled Nine Inch Nails “34 Ghosts IV” and used it to make “Old Town Road”.. Lil Nas purchased some trap beats on line for $30. Trent was very surprised he told Rolling Stone when he heard the final “Old Town Road” version. The track won the CMA for Musical Event Of The Year.
Reznor of Nine inch Nails released his first work in 1989 with Pretty Hate Machine. He won a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Heavy Metal Performance for the song Wish.
In 1994 at Woodstock, While performing with Nine Inch Nails Reznor covered himself in mud in front of thousands who braved rain and mud for the three day festival making him a crowd favorite. The performance put Nine Inch Nails on the map.
In 1994 Nine inch Nails released Downward Spiral. From that album “Hurt” and “Closer” became their most popular songs. In 2003, Johnny Cash released a cover of “Hurt” for “American IV” with Producer Rick Rubin which won a CMA for Album Of The Year.
