[WATCH] Eric Church Makes Vinyl Editions of Heart & Soul
Some things old are new again. The current upward trend of vinyl record sales in America is beyond nostalgia.
Perhaps our ears are overwhelmed and we’re looking to give them a break and immerse ourselves in the music rather than pound our eardrums on a narrow spectrum of compressed squishiness.
We are longing for the full musical experience. Music in a compressed digital file is cold and thin. But music on vinyl, AHHHHH! Warm, The smell, artwork, and sound. So deep and moving.
Vinyl record sales in 2019 reached $479 million in sales, in 2020 it increased to $679 million. Something is happening, and I like it.
For country fans, Eric Church is set to release his triple album Heart & Soul in April. Written on retreat in the mountains of North Carolina. This project deserves to be heard on vinyl. Wait, bring that back a quarter turn. DEMANDS to be heard on vinyl.
