Annie Bosko in the 92.5 XTU X Lounge
About Annie Bosko:
Heavily influenced by classic country and The Beatles, Annie Bosko began performing at 5 years old and has been writing since she was a teen. Passionate about using her voice to uplift those who need it most, she has woven universally resonating themes of vulnerability and empowerment through her songs.
A California native, farmer’s daughter, and the middle of five children, Rolling Stone has praised, “Bosko mixes her innate West Coast chill with country’s personal lyrics.”
In her neo-traditional approach, Bosko doesn’t shy away from fiddle or steel guitar, reminiscent of the country sound that drove her to Nashville at 19, while infusing her unique western edge to create a style all her own.
Annie Bosko recently released “Dandelions,” co-written with Danny Myrick on March 27, 2023, after learning of the tragedy of the Covenant School shooting. In an attempt to process the heaviness, they penned the heart-healing song. Stone Country Records will be donating all proceeds from the song to ACM Lifting Lives to support mental health services for Covenant School families, faculty, and staff. She first debuted the song at a gathering for some of the school’s families earlier this year where she saw firsthand the healing power of music. With students and friends of lost loved ones surrounding her and joining in on the chorus, it was that coming together that inspired her to share it wider.
Her performing abilities have seen her share the stage with icons such as Adele, while her songwriting talents found legendary artists such as Willie Nelson cutting her songs.
Bosko’s single, “Neon Baby” is written by Annie and hit songwriters Bridgette Tatum and Jeffery Steele. “The song captures the sensual side of mature femininity, as Bosko flexes her “neo-traditional” soul for a passionate, steel-laced slow burner. “I think we have enough male-bashing songs out there,” she says with a laugh. “This is the antithesis to that.”
She will continue to release new music, including collaborations with Vince Gill and Dwight Yoakam.
