Hot Chocolate Crawl Returns to East Passyunk on Dec. 14
South Philly’s East Passyunk Avenue will turn into a winter wonderland on Saturday, Dec. 14, for the third annual Hot Chocolate Crawl. Bars, coffee shops, and restaurants along this Philly commercial corridor will serve their takes on the seasonal specialty from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
While the event is pay-as-you-go, participants must purchase a mug to receive the exclusive Hot Chocolate Crawl prices. A souvenir event mug for $12 + fees and an insulated martini glass for $20 + fees are available. Purchase your mug online, then pick it up at The Capri Dessecker Team Office, 1842 E. Passyunk Ave., starting the week of Dec. 2 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or on Dec. 14.
Warm up with classic cups of hot chocolate for $3. Premium (or alcohol-based) drinks are $6, and hot cocoa served with ice cream is $8.
The East Passyunk Opera Project will perform seasonal selections outside area businesses throughout the day. Shops will also have various holiday gifts for purchase, including some exclusive sales only for shoppers on the crawl.

According to a PhillyVoice report, organizers created the Hot Chocolate Crawl in 2022 to help East Passyunk businesses recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The event sold out during its debut year and in 2023.
