Atlantic City Airshow Is Back On After Being Canceled
Airshow fun is back at the shore after being canceled, however, there are some changes. It’s rare that a massive event is canceled and then put back on, so this is a win for the Philadelphia area.
Airshow Is Back For Summer Fun
Visit Atlantic City announced a new event called the Soar & Shore Festival. It’s happening on July 15 and 16 and will bring back the popular family friendly event but with a few changes.
“We are incorporating the historic Atlantic City Boardwalk and you’ll be able to sit on our beaches and watch the air show and incorporate all the festival activities that we’ll be having as well,” said Karina Anthony of Visit Atlantic City.
It’s going to be a civilian airshow, according to organizers. In the past, the AC Airshow has been a display of military pride, so the new version will be very different.
Back in December, it was announced that the long-standing event was cancelled. Officials called it a “strategic pause,” but no other info was given.
“We will use this time to reevaluate the overall operations of the show – reevaluating community engagement, assessing costs, reviewing logistics and creatively considering what future Atlantic City Airshows could look like,” said the Greater Atlantic City Chamber.
Now it’s back, and fans are excited!
Organizers said that the funding was approved for the show, which will be organized and funded through Visit Atlantic City, in cooperation with the Greater Atlantic City Chamber and the city of Atlantic City.
We are assuming that once the date gets closer, we’ll have more details regarding the lineup, times, etc.
“The airshow has always been an incredibly popular event in Atlantic City, and we are excited to be able to partner with Herb Gillen Airshows to bring back this experience for our locals and visitors alike,” said Visit Atlantic City president and CEO, Gary Musich.
