"Which, I mean, getting scores and film and TV is pretty dope [...] I always wanted something like that too, like, be a part of the score, but, that it was Kevin Costner. I mean, like, I don't know how many times I've seen Dances With Wolves and The Postman and all that stuff." When it comes to whether he has met Kevin Costner yet, well his mom is working on that. "No no no no no no, my mom, my mom keeps telling me that I have to make it happen so she can get close to Kevin Costner." "She loves her some Costner." Frankly, who doesn't? So did he have a connection to the movie and TV star before his song was used on the show? Yes, his connection is through Coster's band, Modern West. Dean says he has written many songs with one of the guys in Kevin's band, a left-handed guitar player Park Chisolm. So what is next for Jackson Dean? "Just to keep as much steady work for me and as I possibly can. Really. That was always the goal from the beginning. And I feel like we're doing that pretty well." He recently returned from Europe and said as far as his favorite place across the pond, "I like London a lot. I like Europe a lot. But Scotland are my people." "We did some club shows over there. We did a headline tour of there, and it was some of the hottest shows I've ever played in my life because airflow is a tricky situation for them over there, it's usually cold, but we went in the middle of a heatwave. So anyway, besides the point, the Scots are crazy."
