Lots of people tuned in every Thursday to watch the cast take on Seaside Heights. It received tons of backlash, tons of publicity, and tons of fans.
I have been vacationing at the Jersey Shore my entire life. From Belmar, to Seaside, to Point Pleasant, to Long Beach Island my family was always "Down The Shore." We usually rented a house for a week in LBI when we were younger. When I got older, lots of my friends started renting houses for the summer. These were the "party" houses. They were located in Seaside, Belmar, Pt. Pleasant, and Manasquan. All of these towns are just a short cab ride away and they have the best bars/clubs in these towns. I grew up in Ewing, NJ which is considered Central Jersey so these beaches were only 45 minutes away from my house. We rarely took the trip to Sea Isle City, Avalon, or Wildwood just because it was like a 2-hour drive.
When I turned 21, I was so pumped for summers at the Jersey Shore because that's where all the girls were. You had to be there on Memorial Day Weekend to kick off the summer and you had to be back for Labor Day Weekend to cap the summer off.
If you have visited some of these towns, you probably have heard of Bar Anticipation also known as Bar A in Belmar. This place was also hopping!
D'Jais was a huge attraction at night. I like the Happy Hour there but at night, the house music was blaring through the speakers and napkins were being thrown all over the place. Other bars and clubs like The Osprey and Leggett's in Manaquan, Jenk's, Tiki in Point Pleasant, Headliners in Neptune, Aztec, Beachcomber, Spicy Cantina, Jimbo's, Karma and Bamboo in Seaside.
I have been to all of these places many times so when the show the Jersey Shore came out and it featured the beach towns that I grew up going to and the clubs I always went to, I was hooked! I have seen the cast members out at some of these bars while filming as well. It was pretty cool to see your summer party spot put on the map.
This year, my wife and I decided to get a house in Point Pleasant for a week. A couple that we hang out with often have rented this house for about 20 years and it's literally on the Point Pleasant boardwalk. You take 20 steps out of your back door and you are on the boardwalk and another 10 steps, you are on the beach. Of course, while we were down there, I wanted to go and visit Seaside Heights and the Jersey Shore house because I had never really done the whole tourist thing because I was too busy partying.
Take a look at some of my photos from my Seaside Heights/Jersey Shore adventure.
We did not tour the house. Maybe next time!

$10 to tour the house. We passed.
On the boardwalk outside Spicy Cantina

Yes, people were looking at me as I'm taking photos of a bar
They had Season 1 of The Jersey Shore on in the Shore Store

Yes, I stood there and watched the tv for about 15 minutes.
More items for sale in The Shore Store. Danny, the owner, was not there!

Meatball Problems!
More t-shirt designs inside the Shore Store

They have so many options at this store and every quote from the show.
Got a photo taken inside The Snooki Shop. She was not there!

No, I didn't buy anything.

Who wears sunglasses inside, the cast did so I did. I'm a super dork!
A close-up of Snooki's porch where Pauly D & Vinny would hang frequently in Season 6

The boys used to just sit on this porch for hours and talk to passerbys.
My wife and I added a couple members to the crew

The Jersey Shore cast was always at this bar - Beachcomber

Many a night Deena and Snooki left this bar in shambles.
The house that Snooki rented in Season 6 next door to The Jersey Shore House

She was pregnant in Season 6 and the main house was too much of a party house for her.
This is the bar where Snooki got punched in Season 1 - Beachcomber

It's at the far end of the boardwalk. I am shocked they didn't get tickets for public intoxication.
We had to make a stop at Snooki's boutique

I wanted to walk in and scream "Party's Here" but my wife wouldn't let me.
You can take a tour of The Jersey Shore House

It's $10 to take a tour of the house. We passed on it but definitely doing it next time.

Having a couple drinks at the Spicy Cantina on the Seaside Boardwalk

I'm not a tequila guy but
The Shore Store is the T-Shirt shop where the cast worked during seasons 1,3,5, and 6.

It's T-Shirt Time!

I really wanted a "Cabs Are Here" shirt!
The iconic Italian Flag on the Jersey Shore house garage

They painted this on the garage just for the show and now it's a staple.
