We need more stories like this in the world. One massive Broadway fan so badly wanted to go to one specific Broadway show, so patrons of the restaurant made it happen. Such a cool story! We had to make this our Cup o’ Joy story here on The Andie Summers Show.

Her Dream Broadway Show
New York City waitress and aspiring actress Clair Rachel Howell was serving a table at the Theater District restaurant where she works when she overheard the diners discussing their plans to see the Broadway show “.” The 27-year-old waitress told them that she’d love to see the show, but was deterred by the high ticket prices. Her casual mention led to a surprising act of kindness from the patrons.
When the diners settled their bill at the restaurant, they included a $500 tip along with a note that read, “Go see Merrilly! Sit in the orchestra!” Overwhelmed by this gesture, Howell shared the experience on social media, you can actually follow the Instagram post below, expressing her gratitude towards the anonymous donors. She also posted pictures of her night at the show, celebrating the unexpected turn of events and the kindness of strangers.
In her post, Howell thanked the generous customer for the unexpected gift and expressed her love for New York City, writing, “Magic is still alive in NYC and so is love and kindness and good, GOOD people.” Just as the kind diner had suggested, Howell got a seat in the second row, a dream come true thanks to the kindness of strangers.
