Ikea and the Philadelphia area have quite the love affair. Did you know that the very first Ikea in the United States was the original Ikea at the Plymouth Meeting Mall in Conshohocken? It opened in 1985 and was really the main reason Ikea became the furniture powerhouse globally that it is. Obviously it was founded and based in Sweden, but Conshohocken still serves at the US Headquarters for Ikea.

There is nothing quite like their Swedish Meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberrry sauce. And how can we forget the $1 frozen yogurt cone. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.

Turns out Ikea does so well in the Philadelphia area, Ikea decided to bring another location to the area, the first one in South Jersey. It's not quite the same as the other locations, but we'll get to that in a second.

Check out some of our Ikea favs and all the details on the new South Jersey location. Also, I don't own a home, but I have a bunch of friends who used Ikea inserts as their cabinets, then got custom doors, and said they are the best.
