When a new Marvel movie comes out, people freak out. Lines outside of movie theaters, costumes on, excitement at an all time high. This happens for pretty much every major release within the movie franchise and we wanted to look back at some of the best.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU) is MASSIVE and Jeff has seen every one of them, most in theaters until COVID-19. And now Thor: Love and Thunder is taking movie theaters by storm (no pun intended). It topped the box office this past weekend raking in $143 million.

Here’s the top TEN Marvel movie first weekend releases in order!

  1. Avengers: Endgame – $357,115,007
  2. Spider-Man: No Way Home – $268,138,569
  3. Avengers: Infinity War – $257,698,183
  4. The Avengers – $207,438,708
  5. Black Panther – $202,003,951
  6. Avengers: Age of Ultron – $191,271,109
  7. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – $187,420,998
  8. Captain America: Civil War – $179,139,142
  9. Iron Man 3 – $174,144,585
  10. Captain Marvel – $153,433,423

And now, let’s see how that list compares to Jeff’s favorite Marvel movies of all time!

  • 5) Iron Man (2008)

This started it all! Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is just incredible, smug and arrogant tied into his absolute genius mind.

Here’s my favorite scene from this one.

  • 4) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Chris Pratt shines in this movie in his MCU debut. I also believe this one to the be the funniest of all of the Marvel movies. It’s smart, creative and has the best soundtrack of them all!

  • 3) Black Panther

Of all of the MCU, this movie has the highest rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 96%. Chadwick Boseman shoulders his biggest role in his massive career and hits it out of the park.

  • 2) Avengers: Infinity War

This is the big setup for the finale of this chapter of the MCU. The ending of the movie is the biggest twist I’ve ever experienced in a theater, without a doubt. I cried.

And it features the amazing “Battle of Wakanda!”

  • 1) Avengers: Endgame

I feel like this has to be everyone’s favorite movie just because of everything at stake in this film. All of the heroes, together again for one last EPIC battle with Thanos.
