You would think that most principals would not have that kind of nonsense, but no, not the principal of Heritage Woods Secondary School in Canada.
Star Wars fanatic Hunter Wark-Pantoja asked his principal, Mr. Clerkson, if he would be able to bring a lightsaber to the graduation ceremony. Clerkson’s answer, “maybe,” which of course, the student took as an “absolutely yes!”
Hunter’s friend Joey Aconley is the one who caught the whole battle on camera during the graduation
“Ever since I’ve known him, he was always a big Star Wars fan. Every May 4th—a globally-recognized Star Wars Day—he would bring lightsabers to school for battles,” said Joey. “In photography class, he would use them as light sources.”
Mr. Clerkson said he was absolutely surprised (despite the conversation that Hunter had with him) but he decided to go along with the bit and have a little bit of fun.
“The whole crowd was screaming and applauding – it couldn’t have been a better way to graduate,” said the brave student, Hunter.
