Firefighters Save Deer Stranded On Frozen Lake
The City of Prior Lake posted on Instagram a big thank you to those who made the quick response. You can see the post below.
“Neighbors called PLFD to report a deer stuck on Pike Lake. It was struggling to get off of the thin ice. Firefighters put on their protective gear and carefully crawled across the ice. They were successfully able to push the deer to shore! Thanks PLFD!”
The firefighters responded to the call and sprung right into action. Scroll down to see the video. The deer was unable to stand up on the slippery surface, understandably, I don’t think I would be able to stand either, it’s ICE!
They decided to come up with a plan on how to save the life of this deer. They reached the animal by crawl on all fours and on their stomachs, this would displace their weight in order to not break through the ice. They ultimately were able to make the rescue, you can see the video below of the daring and amazing rescue, it’s really incredible!
Where Is Prior Lake?
It’s in Minnesota, land of the many frozen lakes (I made that up, not an official slogan at all). Here are more details from the Prior Lake website. “Located in one of the fastest growing counties in Minnesota, Prior Lake is an 18.3 square mile developing suburb with a small-town atmosphere just 28 miles south of downtown Minneapolis.”
