If You’re Planning on Tailgating…Don’t
It’s a beloved American tradition that has been cultivated for years. People wake up at the crack of dawn to set up their areas in the parking lot of the Linc on game day. Tailgating! It’s more of a sport than the actual game for some. This year, it won’t happen. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has banned tailgating at the complex for the Philadelphia Eagles’ home opener this Sunday to discourage large gatherings that could contribute to the spread of Covid-19.
It’s bad enough that fans can’t attend games, now The Philadelphia Business Journal reports the city is working with the Eagles to block the gates to Lincoln Financial Field’s parking lot on game day, as well as with owners of properties near Lincoln Financial Field to prevent tailgating. Fans will also be prohibited from tailgating at nearby FDR Park.
The city will release more information on the restrictions later this week.
