Most New Jersey Residents Say No Thanks To Pumping Gas
It’s long been a bone of contention with New Jersey residents….they do not want to pump their own gas. Well thanks to a recent push by lawmakers they may have to get used to it. The bill, introduced last month, Motorist Fueling Choice and Convenience Act, would allow self-service refueling at New Jersey gas stations that could cut the cost at the pump. Part of the bill would still require stations with more than four dispensers to continue to offer full-service gas pumps.
The bigger question is DO New Jersey drivers WANT to pump gas. According to NJ Patch it’s a resounding NO. The survey finds if New Jersey drivers were allowed to pump their own gas, 62.4 % of respondents said they would never opt to refuel themselves. Another 3.5 percent said they weren’t sure.
