Pennsylvania Restaurant Named One of the Best for Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are a very popular food items in Pennsylvania, especially for any kind of sports. We’ve obviously had a great year for sports so far, between the Phillies and the Eagles, so I can imagine that demand for chicken wings is at an all time high.
Now, a Philadelphia restaurant is getting props for having the best chicken wings in Pennsylvania. “Eat This, Not That!” put together a list of the best chicken wings in every state. What a delicious chore for them to put together this list.
“Not only are they a staple on sports bar menus, but you can also find them on the appetizer menus at fancy restaurants,” the publication says of wings. “Creative chefs experiment with wet sauces. And dry rubs. And frying techniques and batters. If you’re a purist, though, the classic buffalo wing remains a perfect bite: a crunchy, deep-fried exterior drenched in a tangy-spicy sauce; juicy chicken; and an obligatory dunk in creamy blue cheese.” As for the history of chicken wings, pretty much everyone knows where they originated, with the outlet stating, “Deep-fried chicken has long been synonymous with Southern cooking. But chicken wings? The idea for this bar food delicacy was hatched in—you guessed it—Buffalo, New York.”
So, what’s tops in Pennsylvania? Wishbone. “Buttermilk battered chicken wings at Wishbone are made with a signature pretzel crust,” Eat This, Not That’s Brittany Anas wrote. “To round out the experience, dunk the wings in craft dipping sauces like Parmesan Pesto or Tamarind Sweet Chili.” If you’re curious about close by states, in New Jersey, the top pick was The Wing Kitchen and in New York, the top pick was Anchor Bar.
