Freddy Hill Farms and Family Fun Center in Montgomery County to Close at End of 2025 Season
Make plans to visit a beloved Montgomery County attraction before it closes at the end of the 2025 season.
Freddy Hill Farms and Freddy’s Family Fun Center, at 1440 Sumneytown Pike in Towamencin Township, announced on its website on Friday, March 7, that the business will cease operations at the end of this season after 53 years of serving the community.
Freddy Hill’s owners, the Seipt family, said they look forward to retirement and expressed appreciation for the many community supporters and customers over the years.
The family entertainment complex, with its miniature golf courses, a driving range, and batting cages, opened on Saturday, March 8. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
According to a North Penn Now report, Freddy Hill Farms and the Fun Center are situated on a 94-acre parcel owned by Freddy Hill Ventures LP, which has been assessed for $1.8 million. The land itself is not protected farmland.
According to Towamencin Township’s December 2024 draft comprehensive plan update, any changes in ownership for the property location would call for the township to revise its Future Land Use Map to change the farm’s parcels from agriculture to residential/open space.
In a review of Towamencin Township’s Planning Commission meeting minutes from August 2024, consultants updated supervisors on their draft comprehensive plan. They demonstrated that the Freddy Hill Farm area could present opportunities for residential use and land preservation for some of the areas.
Based on the minutes, the consultant told township planners that Freddy Hill consists of approximately 120 acres of land zoned R-175 Residential District.
“They could potentially get 150 units developed if they choose, but the thought process is instead of having a minimum lot area of 30,000 square feet, it could be a minimum lot area of 15,000 square feet, and then the other areas can create more open space. This potentially gives the developer an incentive to keep open space,” the minutes stated.
