(PICS) Famous Jim’s Steaks on South Street Plans to Reopen After Fire with New Additions!
Anyone who has ever eaten a cheesesteak was devastated when the famous Jim’s Steaks at 4th & South was destroyed in a fire last Summer. No one knew when (or if) Jim’s would be back. Now we can celebrate, because Jim’s is not only coming back, but bigger and better.
A rendering features a second-story addition that matches the shop’s well-known Art Deco style. Reports say they are hopeful it will open June 2023.
Silver and his father opened Jim’s South Street in 1976, but the original Jim’s Steaks dates back to 1939. That shop was located on North 62nd Street in West Philly. Another Jim’s Steaks is currently in operation in Springfield, Delaware County.
Hello, Beautiful!
