This Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles – Los Angeles Rams game is chock full of former Georgia Bulldogs.

The Philadelphia Eagles are undefeated at 4-0 after beating the New England Patriots, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and most recently the Washington Commanders. It was a tough start to the season but you have to play who is on your schedule and they won all of them.

Moving over to the Los Angeles Rams, they sit at 2-2 and play in a very tough division.  The Seattle Seahawks were a playoff team last year, the San Francisco 49ers are currently the best team in football with a 4-0 record, and then the Arizona Cardinals who are not very good. The Rams beat their division-rival Seattle in the season opener, then lost a hard-fought battle with another division-rival in the San Francisco 49ers.  In Week 3 on Monday Night Football, they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals by 3 points in another hard-fought loss. In Week 4, they took down the Indianapolis Colts in overtime.

This should be a battle because Matthew Stafford still has gas left in the tank and the Birds have not played a complete game yet.

Before these players were drafted into the NFL, they were college stars!  If you go to an SEC school, you have a really good chance of making it to the league.

If you went to Georgia in the past few years, you won a couple of National Championships and were drafted by an NFL team.  As I write this, the Georgia Bulldogs have not lost a game in over 2 years and won the last 2 National Championships.  They currently have 51 players on NFL rosters or practice squads and 25 Georgis Bulldogs have been drafted over the past 2 seasons.

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday at 4:05 pm and you will see a lot of former Georgia Bulldogs on the field. Take a look at the former Bulldogs who will be on the field at SoFi Field.

Matthew Stafford is the elder statesman of this group of Georgia Bulldogs.  He was selected #1 overall in the 2009 draft and has had quite a career.  He was drafted by the Detroit Lions aka purgatory but put up some big numbers with the team.  He gets traded to the LA Rams and in his first season with the team, he wins the Super Bowl!

  • Jalen Carter - Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Tackle

One word describes this guy.  DOMINANT!  Another 2 time National Champion with the Bulldogs.  He was probably the best player on the team and the best player in the draft but he fell to the Eagles with the 9th overall pick. Jalen Carter has made a huge impact already in his first 4 games as a professional.

  • Jordan Davis - Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Tackle

THE RUN STOPPER!  He won a National Championship with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2021 alongside his defensive linemate Jalen Carter.  The Eagles chose the 6’6″ 336 lb defensive tackle with the 13th pick of the 2022 NFL draft.

  • Stetson Bennett - Los Angeles Rams Quarterback

Before he was drafted by te Rams in the 4th round, he tore up the college scene as the primary signal caller for the 2-time defending National Champion Georgia Bulldogs.  He started his tenure at Georgia as a walk-on and won the starting job.  The rest is history.

  • Nolan Smith - Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End

Another 2 time National Champion with the Georgia Bulldogs.  He was drafted by the Birds in the first round with the 30th pick. Back in high school, he was ranked the #1 player in the country at one point.  Wow!

  • Nakobe Dean - Philadelphia Eagles Linebacker

He won the National Championship with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2021 and was named a unanimous All-American the same year. He also took home the Dick Butkus Award as the nation’s best linebacker.  The Eagles drafted him with the 83rd pick in the 2022 draft.

  • Warren McClendon Jr. - Los Angeles Rams Offensive Tackle

A member of the back-to-back National Champion Georgia Bulldogs.  He was a stout right tackle and earned All-SEC honors in his last year at Georgia. He was drafted in the 5th round by the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Derion Kendrick - Los Angeles Rams Cornerback

Derion Kendrick is a really good corner who was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 6th round. In college, he won a National Championship in 2018 with Clemson and then he transferred to Georgia where he won another National Championship earning Co-MVP honors in the Championship game.

  • D'Andre Swift - Philadelphia Eagles Running Back

One of if not the best additions to the Eagles this season.  The former Detroit Lion running back has burst onto the scene with the Eagles so far this season.

He was drafted by the Detroit Lions with the 35th pick in the 2020 draft.

  • Kelee Ringo - Philadelphia Eagles Cornerback

This list is riddled with 2 time defending National Champions and Kelee Ringo is no different.  He was a stud corner at Georgia earning 2nd team All-SEC in 2022.  His shining moment came when he returned an interception for a touchdown in the 2022 National Championship game.  The Eagles drafted him with the 105th pick in this past draft.
