Was the pitcher asking for it or was Harper out of line on this one? Bryce Harper was ejected from the Phillies game against the Rockies on Sunday, May 14th.
We just had to talk about this on The Andie Summers Show on 92.5 XTU.
Bryce Harper Ejected In Phillies Loss
It was a really tough night for the Phillies, unable to get any runs across the plate despite having seven hits. The pitcher who really (in our opinion) started the whole thing was Rockies Jake Bird. Check the video below, you be the judge if he started it.
Harper was interviewed after the game, here’s what he had to say according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“I understand getting fired up after an inning and stuff like that, but once you make it about a team, or make it about yourself or the other team, that’s when I’ve got a problem with it.”
Harper Wasn’t The Only Ejection…
Manage of the Phillies, Rob Thomson, was also ejected. This was reported by NBC Sports. Here’s what he had to say about Harper’s reaction to pitcher Jake Bird.
“He’s protecting his teammates. That’s what this group does. And I’m proud of them for it. He’s an emotional guy and he was sticking up for his teammates. Boys will be boys. Things happen.”
