No, you did not misread the headline.  According to Pro Football Focus and their “Top 50 Best Players In The NFL” list… Our very own Jalen Hurts did not make their top 50 list.

How is this possible?  He would have been the MVP of the league if he did not get injured.  He led the birds to the Super Bowl.  He made one mistake in the biggest game of the year but other than that, he was amazing!

I can see them ranking 2 or 3 quarterbacks over Jalen Hurts but 6? Are you kidding?

Let’s just look at his numbers from last year.  He played in 15 games in the regular season and went 14-1.  He had a completion percentage of 66.5% while throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns with only 6 picks.

Now onto his rushing numbers. 760 rushing yards with 13 toucdowns.

That equates to 4,461 total yards and 35 total touchdowns. Did I mention he came in 2nd in MVP voting behind Patrick Mahomes who is arguably the best player on the planet.

I’m not sure what Pro Football Focus is watching but it could be an anti-Eagles bias.  On a better note… A few Eagles did make the list.

Lane Johnson came in at #15. AJ Brown took #25. Lastly, Jason Kelce came in at #46.

Another Eagles snub isH Hasson Reddick.  He made the Pro Bowl.  He was 4th in Defensive Player of the Year voting and was named 2nd Team All-Pro honors.

How in the heck is he not a top 50 player?  The guy had 16 sacks!  16!

The Eagles hate is definitely real.  The NFC Champion and Super Bowl runner-up only has 3 members of it’s team in the top 50 of the NFL.  Does this mean that the Birds are just loaded with great talent or are we being hated on again?  I choose the latter.

Take a look at the 6 quarterbacks that are ranked higher than Jalen Hurts in Pro Football Focus’s Top 50 Best Players in th NFL.

  • #45 - Aaron Rodgers

Okay.  Aaron Rodgers is a first ballot Hall of Famer.  A Super Bowl Champion back in 2010-2011, a 4 time league MVP.  That guy has done it all.  He goes to a new team in a new conference.  I guess with the body of work he has, he has to be on the list.  I think Jalen Hurts should be higher than Rodgers just because of the year he had last year.

  • #41 - Lamar Jackson

A former league MVP.  He finally inked a new deal with the Ravens and has more weapons.  He has been rittled with injuries over the last few seasons but he is still only 26 years old. I 100% do not agree that Lamar should be ahead of Hurts.

  • #35 - Justin Herbert

This one just annoys me.  Justin Herbert is a phenomenal player.  What has he done that Jalen Hurts has not done.  Has he been an MVP runner-up? Has he been to a Super Bowl?

  • #12 - Josh Allen

I hate to say this but I think Josh Allen is a tad over-rated.  Yes, he has all of the gifts you want in a quarterback.  Big guy, nice runner, huge arm. The big knock against him is that he folds in the biggest games. Josh Allen is an elite talent but has definitlely been the sole reason the Bills have lost big games.

  • #10 - Joe Burrow

I can agree with this one.  I think Joe Burrow is a phenomenal player.  He took his team to a Super Bowl and his numbers are outstanding.  I’m not that upset with Burrow being #10.

  • #1 - Patrick Mahomes

This is a no-brainer.  He is by far the best player in the league.  Jalen Hurts had better numbers than Mahomes in the Super Bowl but Mahomes did not turn the ball over.  If Hurts played all 17 games, he would have probably won the MVP.  I am not trying to argue that Hurts should be #1 on the list.  He should at least be top 10.  The guy didn’t even make the list!
