I think you will be pleasantly surprised as to where the Phillies rank in MLB attendance this season. It was a big year for the Phillies, just coming from a National League Championship and a heroic playoff run, the hype was real surrounding this team.
Plus the addition of a HUGE free agent signing, shortstop Trea Turner. This was set to be a huge year for the Phillies and the fans were in attendance VERY excited for it. But did the fans actually show up to the ballpark?
According to Statista.com, there was an increase of 2.5 million fans from the 2022 to the 2023 season which is a pretty big increase (from 62 to 64 million). But did fans respond to it here in Philadelphia? We will find out.
Phillies Heading Back To The Playoffs
For the second straight year, Philadelphia is back in the playoffs. Last year, we just barely squeaked by with the sixth, narrowly making it into the playoffs. This year, we clinched our spot with six games to go and we will occupy the 4th seed (the top Wild Card seed) and face the 5th seed in the Wild Card round (which seems like it will be the Arizona Diamondbacks.
