Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry To Join Marvel Universe
You may not have heard of the Eternals, but you’re surely familiar with the cast that Marvel has assembled for The Eternals.
One of the next franchises that Marvel is launching, along with Shangi-Chi and a rebooted Blade will be The Eternals. The Eternals are a group of genetically-engineered super-humans blessed with long life, created by the Celestials, a group of all-powerful giant space gods who designed the Eternals to help defend humanity. Ego The Living Planet, played by Kurt Russell in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was a celestial. The Celestials also created the Deviants, an evil race that the Eternals battle.
The film, which is currently shooting, is directed by Chloe Zhao, an indie filmmaker who directed Songs My Brothers Taught Me and The Rider. The cast includes Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden (Icarus), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Lia McHugh (Sprite), and Don Lee (Gilgamesh). The film is due for release on November 6, 2020.
