Lainey Wilson Reacts To Shoutout From Kelly Clarkson
Lainey Wilson’s music got a shoutout from Kelly Clarkson this week on Kelly’s Insta Stories.
Clarkson posted, “If you’re needing a break from listening to my album, ‘Chemistry,’ then check out @laineywilsonmusic ‘wildflowers and wild horses’ and @codyjohnson ‘when it comes to you.’ You’re gonna love both these artists… or you have s— taste.”
Lainey saw the post and reacted on her Insta stories, writing, “Well dang, this means the world from you, sister. Love you (heart emoji).”
When Lainey appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March (2023), she revealed and sang a bit of a song she wrote when she was nine-year-old.
On the show, Kelly asked Lainey if she remembered the first song she ever wrote, and Wilson said, “I do; mine’s called ‘Lucky Me.'” Clarkson said her first song was called “Baby Blue Eyes,” and she admitted it was about a boy, and Lainey said, “Mine was too. I wrote mine at a sleepover, nine years old. The two became quick friends on the show.

Wilson recently had a photo shoot with People magazine in May at her Nashville home, posing in different outfits in her backyard near her pool. She talked about everything from moving to Nashville to her early days as a Hannah Montana impersonator to her love of country icon Dolly Parton. Lainey also spoke about her fashion style, including wearing bell-bottom pants for the last eight years.
When asked how many bell bottoms she has, she quipped, “There’s no such thing as too many.” Lainey added of her flared style, “We still keep it fun. We still keep it interesting. I feel like I get to get up every single morning and get to express myself however I am feeling that day, just like writing a song.”
Wilson also noted that in the future, she doesn’t see herself giving up what has now become her signature look, wearing bell bottoms. She said, “I’ll probably be 90 years old and still wearing bell bottoms—I don’t think anybody’s ever seen my ankles!”
