Tim McGraw Says He ‘Would’ve Died Already’ Without His Wife
Tim McGraw is talking about his wife of almost 27 years, Faith Hill, and how he would not be the country superstar he is today without her. Tim and Faith Hill married in October 1996 in a small ceremony at his aunt’s Rayville, Louisiana, home. The couple share daughters Gracie, 26, Maggie, 25, and Audrey, 21.
In the new interview promoting his new album, Standing Room Only, McGraw said that without Faith, his career wouldn’t be where it is today. He said, “I guarantee you, had I not gotten married to Faith at 29 years old, I probably would’ve ran my career into the ground.” He also noted that he probably “would’ve died already. Tim said that his career that he knew one thing for sure, and that is that his career “wouldn’t have ever been where it’s at now.”
McGraw recently released his new album, Standing Room Only. As he told us, he’s been working on the project for a while now. He said, “This album I’ve been working on, gosh, since COVID was going on. I had been collecting songs for a while, found some great songs that had a lot of meanings, a lot of depth to them.”
McGraw says of the new work, “I think as an artist, if you’re not improving, if you’re not thinking you’re getting better every time you make a record, then maybe it’s time to quit. “In fact, I mean, I say this every time, but I think as an artist, if you’re not improving, if you’re not thinking you’re getting better every time you make a record, then maybe it’s time to quit. I think this record has some of the most emotional songs, some of the most thought-provoking songs, and life-affirming songs that I’ve ever recorded. I’m excited for everyone to hear ’em because I just really think this is one of the best projects we’ve ever made.”
