We know that Bryce is definitely back, but we weren’t sure about a few of our other star players. Phillies announce two superstars are returning for the 2024 Season. There have been so many rumors about players leaving the team, and we have been waiting to hear what will happen with Rhys Hoskins, Aaron Nola, and Nick Castellanos. We found out a few weeks ago that Bryce Harper will officially continue playing first base, which means it’s most likely Rhys Hoskins is done as a Philadelphia Phillie. It’s a hard pill to swallow for a lot of fans, as Rhys not only has been on the team the longest of the current players, he’s played his heart out especially when the team wasn’t good. And he and his wife also did so much for the city. We know sports is a business, but the worst part is when your favorite players leave. Rhys obviously was out all of last season after he tore his ACL at Spring Training. We were hoping if the Phillies made the World Series, he would be able to come back and play. Unfortunately, that never happened and it looks like Rhys will end his career playing for another team.
We know Bryce Harper isn’t leaving the team, so let’s take a look at where you might spot him around Philly in the off-season. Turns out Bryce loves a grocery store. It’s pretty funny he’s the suburban dad who goes to different stores to find his favorite foods. Now if he could start doing some charity work around Philly, that would make it even better.
5 Surprising Places Bryce Harper Has Been Spotted Around Philly Since Phillies Season Ended
Glad to see he’s still around. Here are 5 surprising places Bryce Harper has been spotted around Philly since the Phillies season ended. Bryce lives in Las Vegas in the off-season. That’s where he grew up and has his main home. Normally as soon as the season is over, he’s on his private jet back to Las Vegas. Last year was definitely a little different because he got Tommy John surgery for his elbow as soon as the season ended. This year, he was feeling great, and hitting amazingly, until the games where he went cold. Okay okay, we aren’t going to dwell on that.
Bryce and his family reportedly live in South Jersey and he’s been doing the rounds of being a good Philadelphian by showing up at a bunch of different places and has taken quite a few pictures. One could look at it as if he’s staying around, showing up, shaking hands, and kissing babies as a way to make up for not winning, or maybe he really is having a good time just hanging out being a regular dad.
Bryce already has said numerous times he loves it in Philly. That he’s not pandering. He truly loves being here, loves the fans, and wants a parade down Broad Street. WE DO TOO BRYCE! WE DO TOO! There have been reports that he wants to extend his contract with the Phillies, which is interesting since he signed a 13-year deal in 2019. If he signs an extension, he’ll be like 45. But if Tom Brady did it, why can’t Bryce Harper?
I do wish Bryce did more around Philly for those in need. I think it’s interesting he doesn’t have his own foundations, hasn’t visited kids at CHOP or St Chris’, and hasn’t done a turkey drop or anything for underprivileged kids. Chase Utley did so much for the SPCA, and what Carson Wentz did with his food truck, and what Joel Embiid and Jalen Hurts continue to do is amazing. Hopefully, Bryce will follow suit soon. Check out where Bryce has been spotted around Philly since the Phillies season ended.
First, it was announced this week that Garrett Stubbs is coming back for another season.
And in much bigger news…Aaron Nola is BACK! He signed a 7 year deal which means will be enjoying Aaron for a few more years in Philadelphia!
