It's pretty obvious that Philly always loved Kylie, but once the Amazon Prime documentary "Kelce" was released last September, Kylie Kelce became a star.  With her intelligence, wit, down-to-earthness, and beauty, she took the country by storm.  Obviously, her brother-in-law Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift catapulted Kylie's stardom, but as many Swifties have said over and over, "We came for the Taylor, but stayed for Travis, Jason, and Kylie."  I think that's an important part of the Kelce fandom.  Yes, Travis dating Taylor made them more famous, but it's because they are amazing humans that made them stars once people got to know more about them.

Unfortunately one of the Philadelphia area's longest universities will unfortunately close it's doors this May.  After many years of financial issues, Cabrini announced last year that it would close its doors at the end of its spring 2024 semester. The university cut staff and some degree programs, but it was not enough to save the school.  Villanova agreed to buy the Radnor campus in a deal that was finalized in November.  Needless to say, former students were devastated their school would be no more.

"One of the best decisions I've ever made was to become a part of the Cabrini field hockey family," Kelce said in a statement. "The experience gave me memories and friendships that will last a lifetime."

Kylie Kelce played field hockey for Cabrini and received a bachelor of arts in communications in 2017.  Her Cabrini speech will take place during the university's 64th and final commencement on Sunday, May 19.

I don't think we have to worry about not seeing Kylie though. She and Jason will still remain in Philly and she's one of the biggest supporters for the Eagles Autism Foundation so I have a feeling we will be seeing her out and about doing all the amazing things she's been doing.

On Monday, March 4th, 2024 Jason Kelce scheduled a press conference to make a "big announcement." At this moment, Philadelphians feared that this would be the moment when Jason Kelce would announce his retirement. Unfortunately for fans of the Philadelphia Eagles Center, their biggest fear came true. Jason walked into a room filled with his wife and family wearing a Philadelphia Eagles cut-off, shorts, and flip-flops. When it came time for Kelce to start his speech, he burst into tears. Silence filled the room as the footballer began to take in the idea that his career had finally ended. 

Over the past year, football fans wondered when Jason Kelce would retire. Kelce and his wife, Kylie have three beautiful daughters, Wyatt, Elliot, and Bennet who are all under the age of four. In the 'Kelce' documentary, Jason and Kylie worried about Jason's physical health if he continued playing football. After the previous season, especially with the devastating ending for the Birds, it was suspected that we would be mourning his career very soon. 

Jason Kelce is a family man. We constantly see him pour out his love the women in his life like his wife, his mother, and his three little girls. When the press conference was announced, we knew that his family would be there supporting him the whole way. So, who was in the room when it happened? Through video, we watched Kylie wipe tears away. We saw his brother Travis sit behind a pair of dark sunglasses to hid his pain. Of course, his parents, Donna and Ed support their son's 13-year long football career. For his teammates who weren't in the press conference room, they showed their support on social media. 

No matter what Jason chooses to do during retirement, we know that he will always be Philly's biggest fan! We'll see you at the Jersey Shore this summer, Jason! In the meantime, let's remember these iconic fits from Jason Kelce. 

This was the moment when Philadelphia noticed Jason's commitment to the city. He was hard to miss and harder to ignore. Dressed in the now iconic glimmering Mummers costume, he gave a speech that united the city. It was the city's first Super Bowl win and they were proud. They waited 52 years for this win. The center said this unforgettable line in his speech, "Hungry dogs run faster." Jason also said that exact sentence in his retirement speech.

One thing Philadelphians love to see is the support between all their major sports team. Jason Kelce never shied away from showing up in the stands, with a beer in his hand and that team's color. When the Phillies made it to the NLCS, Jason Kelce was there in his Phillies overalls, and of course, beer in hand. What we didn't know at the time was that this would be the first of many overall-fits we would see from Jason Kelce that year.

I believe that there are three things that Jason Kelce loves most in his like - his wife, his three daughters and flip flops. Players of all different sports have used the idea of walking into the stadium before a game as a way to show off their fashion style. As for Jason? Not so much. We usually saw Jason rocking the same fit - a t-shirt, sweatpants, and his flops. When asked about why he chooses to not dress up on his New Heights podcast, Jason responded by saying, "Some people go to play football and some people go to play dress-up, OK? Again with the flip flops, Jason! In 2023, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie released a documentary of their day-to-day life during the 2021-2022 football season. Revealed during an episode of New Heights with his brother, Travis, Jason says that he had worn this to football practice that day and he did not plan on wearing this outfit to the premiere. Instead, Kylie (who was also caring for their three daughters at home) was meant to bring her husband a pair of jeans and closed toe shoes for him to wear. That conversation led to one of the most iconic quote from the Kelce podcast, "Why didn't Jason bring jeans for Jason?" 

Did anyone expect this man to dress in a suit for this press conference? If you did, you obviously don't know Jason Kelce. The legend wore a Philadelphia Eagles cut-off, shorts, and of course, flip flops. What you might have missed is Jason's taped up ankles and it isn't the reason you would think. Kelce's long-time trainer, Joe O'Pella, posted photos and him and Jason over the years on Instagram and captioned the memories with this touching story.  "You all know about the on-field accomplishments, and many of the off-the-field ones too, but what this man has meant to me and now my family over the past decade plus is nearly indescribable."  O'Pella revealed that when he was diagnosed with cancer and was out of work for chemo that he was upset he would not be the last person to tape Jason's ankles. He continued, "And when he told me he would be retiring and I expressed my regret of not being the last person to ever tape him, and he offered to have me tape him for his retirement press conference."

There is nothing that the city of Philadelphia loves more than their sports teams. We will welcome you into our city with open arms, but if we get a sniff that you don't share the same passion, you've lost our support. Philly embraced Jason Kelce because he LOVED this city. To add onto that, his wife, Kylie, is a Philadelphia native and a die-hard Eagles fan just like the rest of us. The Kelce's love Philadelphia and Philadelphia loves them right back.
