Jason Kelce Is Being Filmed By Record Breaking Documentary Directors Once Again
It looks like we’re getting more Jason Kelce. The latest news is that a new Jason Kelce documentary is being filmed by documentary directors once again. Obviously, those of us in Philadelphia have loved and adored Jason Kelce for years. Not only for his fierce play on the field as the star center for the Philadelphia Eagles, but after his epic Super Bowl speech on the Art Museum steps, he became a national sports treasure. We’re so ready for the “Kelce” Documentary Part 2!
Jason Kelce’s Charity Work
Not to mention Jason Kelce’s charity work with his (Be) Philly Foundation and of course A Philly Special Christmas Album which raised of $3 Million Dollars for charities in Philadelphia and Kansas City. He also made a special t-shirt that raised money for Patricia Allen Fund in Buffalo.
Jason Kelce became more well known once the “New Heights” podcast took off in Fall 2022 with his brother Travis Kelce. It also helped that both the Eagles and Chiefs had the season of the lives and went to the Kelce Bowl aka The Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl in 2023. What we didn’t know at the time was that Jason Kelce was being filmed for a documentary on Amazon Prime.
A New Jason Kelce Documentary Idea
Jason’s friend and former teammate Conor Barwin had the idea to film a player thinking about retiring. While filming, “New Heights” became the most popular sports podcast and the Eagles and Chiefs played each other in the Super Bowl.
Obviously, in the Summer of 2023, Travis Kelce started dating Taylor Swift and that took the Kelce Family literally world wide stardom. It really was the perfect timing though for Jason Kelce. The buzz that Travis and Taylor were dating started at the end of the August, and Jason Kelce’s documentary on Amazon Prime debuted in September.
As many of the Swifties said, “we came for Taylor, but stayed for Jason and Travis.” It was such a hit, that “Kelce” became the most-watched documentary on Amazon Prime of all time. And now it seems a new Jason Kelce documentary is on the horizon!
Philadelphia area documentary filmmakers had this to say about Jason: “In a way, we’ve kind of been making the Jason Kelce retirement documentary all along. I don’t know where we’re all going to end up with this [footage] but we’re honored, and really feel privileged to be included in his life like this,” said Joyce, a lifelong Eagles fan from Delaware County.
What could be in the new Jason Kelce documentary? Most likely this final season of his career. But there is a solid chance we may see additional pieces from the older footage. I’m sure there are many Swifties out there also hoping that there will be some scenes of Taylor and Travis with the rest of the Kelce clan.

This was the moment when Philadelphia noticed Jason’s commitment to the city. He was hard to miss and harder to ignore. Dressed in the now iconic glimmering Mummers costume, he gave a speech that united the city. It was the city’s first Super Bowl win and they were proud. They waited 52 years for this win. The center said this unforgettable line in his speech, “Hungry dogs run faster.” Jason also said that exact sentence in his retirement speech.

The 'Kelce' Documentary Premiere
Again with the flip flops, Jason! In 2023, Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie released a documentary of their day-to-day life during the 2021-2022 football season. Revealed during an episode of New Heights with his brother, Travis, Jason says that he had worn this to football practice that day and he did not plan on wearing this outfit to the premiere. Instead, Kylie (who was also caring for their three daughters at home) was meant to bring her husband a pair of jeans and closed toe shoes for him to wear. That conversation led to one of the most iconic quote from the Kelce podcast, “Why didn’t Jason bring jeans for Jason?”

Did anyone expect this man to dress in a suit for this press conference? If you did, you obviously don’t know Jason Kelce. The legend wore a Philadelphia Eagles cut-off, shorts, and of course, flip flops. What you might have missed is Jason’s taped up ankles and it isn’t the reason you would think. Kelce’s long-time trainer, Joe O’Pella, posted photos and him and Jason over the years on Instagram and captioned the memories with this touching story. “You all know about the on-field accomplishments, and many of the off-the-field ones too, but what this man has meant to me and now my family over the past decade plus is nearly indescribable.” O’Pella revealed that when he was diagnosed with cancer and was out of work for chemo that he was upset he would not be the last person to tape Jason’s ankles. He continued, “And when he told me he would be retiring and I expressed my regret of not being the last person to ever tape him, and he offered to have me tape him for his retirement press conference.”

There is nothing that the city of Philadelphia loves more than their sports teams. We will welcome you into our city with open arms, but if we get a sniff that you don’t share the same passion, you’ve lost our support. Philly embraced Jason Kelce because he LOVED this city. To add onto that, his wife, Kylie, is a Philadelphia native and a die-hard Eagles fan just like the rest of us. The Kelce’s love Philadelphia and Philadelphia loves them right back. We are still mourning Kelce’s retirement, but we know we will see him again soon. Thank you for being a legendary Eagle, Jason!
