Are you a huge Eagles fan? Of course you are! But are you a Super Fan? Are you a bigger fan than Giovanni Algarin? You’d have to prove it to me, because this kid is the bomb. Gio is a 15-year-old podcaster (The Giovanni Show) who loves Loves LOVES his Birds. And he was desperate to get tickets to go to the Super Bowl.
Here’s where it gets really cool. – Not only was Gio able to crowd fund 18-thousand-dollars to cover the cost to send him and his mom to Glendale, Arizona, but he was really surprised when former Philadelphia Eagle Zach Ertz stepped up to kick in two additional tickets so Giovanni can bring his whole family.
Ertz posted a video to the Ertz Family Foundation’s Twitter account of him surprising Gio with the additional tickets. “I want to make it a family affair, I don’t want it to be just you and your mom,” Ertz says in the video. “I’m the oldest of four boys. I know how much it means to have your brothers there present in your life. So I want to gift you two tickets so your brother and sister can come to the game out here in Arizona as well.”
In addition to the tickets from Ertz, Gio also got hooked up with rooms courtesy of Colts owner Jim Irsay and scored a media pass with some help from NFL Network sportscaster Rich Eisen. On Friday, Gio tweeteda response to the outpouring of support he’s been getting from his fans. “I can’t thank you guys enough,” he writes, “I always feel like the odd one out but not when I am with you guys and not when I am watching football. I belong and I feel like I belong because of you. Go Birds. Love Gio.”
